Myanmar monks fight 'threat' to Shwedagon pagoda

The Shwedagon Pagoda, a giant gold pagoda 99m (324ft) tall, is one of Myanmar's most famous Buddhist landmarks.

It is currently at the centre of a campaign by monks to stop proposals for a luxury residential and retail complex close by, in Myanmar's main city Yangon.

As the BBC's Jonah Fisher reports, the land is owned by the Burmese army, which is determined the project will go ahead.
