Sorrow of India's trafficked brides

India's new prime minister Narendra Modi has promised a zero tolerance approach towards crimes against women, following a series of rapes and sexual assaults over the past few years.

But the root of many of the problems affecting women begins with social attitudes that favour boys and men.

With girls routinely aborted it has led to a severe imbalance in the ratio of women to men in India and and many men who cannot find a wife turn to bride traffickers.

Andrew North reports from the state of Haryana where the gender gap is at its worst.
