Afghanistan's Abdullah Abdullah calls for a halt to vote-counting

One of the candidates in the Afghan presidential election, Abdullah Abdullah, has demanded an immediate halt to the counting of votes, following allegations of fraud in a run-off poll last Saturday.

Dr Abdullah, a former foreign minister, said he had lost trust in the Afghan Independent Election Commission, and had ordered his staff to leave the counting centres.
