South China Sea ships collide in disputed water

Footage has emerged of a collision between a Chinese coastguard vessel and a Vietnamese ship in the South China Sea.

Video from on-board the Vietnamese vessel near the Paracel Islands shows the incident, which happened on Tuesday.

Last week, several collisions were reported between Chinese and Vietnamese vessels in disputed waters as the Vietnamese ships sought to prevent the installation of the Chinese drilling rig.

Tim Hodges reports.
