Phase one of China water-diversion project completed

The first stage of an ambitious multi-billion dollar plan to divert water from rivers in the south of China to northern and eastern areas has been completed, according to state media.

Once finished, it is hoped the infrastructure project will help provide billions of cubic meters of water each year to millions of people in drought-prone areas.

Tom Santorelli reports.
