Singapore by-election to be held

The City state of Singapore will hold a by-election over the weekend after a minister from the ruling People's Action Party, the PAP, stepped down following a scandal over an extra-marital affair.

The by-election will be a litmus test of the government's popularity, after 40 years of rule over Singapore.
