Uganda: Kizza Besigye under house arrest

Yoweri Museveni has been declared the winner of Uganda's presidential election.

The country's electoral commission said that Mr Museveni won 61% of the votes.

The main opposition leader, Kizza Besigye who was awarded 35% - described the election as a sham and has called on the international community to reject the result.

Mr Besigye was placed under house arrest on Friday.
