Africa army medic's life on front line

Military experts have been testing the capability of more than 5,500 troops and support staff as part of a major exercise in South Africa.

Sergeant Chanetsa Gift, 37, is a Zimbabwean national. He is a military paramedic and has been in the forces for 15 years.

He told the BBC's Karen Allen about the challenges of working in desert terrain alongside colleagues who do not all speak the same language.
