Ebola 'attacking way of life' in Liberia

Liberia has begun to close down schools and border crossings to halt the outbreak of Ebola in the country, with affected communities faced by quarantine.

"We are aware that this disease is attacking the way of life of many people" in Liberia, the country's minister of information Lewis Brown told BBC Radio 4's Today programme.

He said the Liberian government is taking the outbreak very seriously to prevent Ebola from spreading further.

The virus has killed at least 660 people in West Africa since February.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Thursday 31 July.
