Boko Haram 'of the utmost evil', says Archbishop Welby

Islamist militant group Boko Haram are "of the utmost evil" and must continue to be tackled through prayer, Justin Welby has said.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, who recently visited Nigeria, told the Today programme that he felt a "deep sense of sorrow" for all those suffering in the country.

He added that a number of dioceses have been "scattered" by events and bishops forced to leave their area.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday 6 June.
