Benin credit union boosts finances for local women

Would you trust your community to keep your money more than a bank?

Community credit associations are very popular in many countries where formal banking is almost non existent.

They call it Susu in Ghana, Kameti in India or Consorcio in Brazil.

BBC Africa's Helene Daouphars reports from Benin, where the practice is called Tontine.
