Football's Africa Cup of Nations: what you need to know

The African Cup of Nations, kicking off on 19 January this year, is the main international football competition for all of Africa.

The first tournament was in 1957 and only involved three nations.

But now 16 countries take part and all of them must go through qualification apart from the hosts.
