Julius Malema: 'Workers must refuse to sell their labour'

The former head of the ANC's youth wing, Julius Malema, is to visit the Marikana platinum mine in South Africa, where 34 striking miners were shot dead by police on 16 August.

An outspoken critic of the mine bosses, the police and the president, he told BBC Newsday's Lerato Mbele that mineworkers must put down their tools until wage demands were met.

''I'm not calling for violence. I'm not calling for killing of anybody,'' he added.
