Raila Odinga warns of Kenya ethnic election violence

Kenya's Prime Minister Raila Odinga has told the BBC's Network Africa programme that ethnically-based political groups could mean next year's elections will turn violent.

Mr Odinga has been prime minister since the government of national unity was formed in 2008 after post-election violence which which left about 1,500 people dead.

General elections in Kenya are due in 2013 and latest opinion polls show Mr Odinga leads the group of candidates who have declared an interest in the position.
