Cameron warns of African aid cuts to anti-gay countries

David Cameron says that African countries which persecute homosexuals will have their aid cut unless they stop punishing people in same sex relationships.

The International Development Secretary, Andrew Mitchell, has already cut aid to Malawi by £19m after two gay men were sentenced to 14 years of hard labour, but made it clear that the money used to support the government would be channelled through NGOs and the UN instead.

Kofi Mawuli Klu is the Executive Commissioner of Panafriindaba, an African think tank, and he told Radio 5 live Breakfast what he made of the policy.
