President Yoweri Museveni dismisses challenger threats
Ugandans have been going to the polls, with President Yoweri Museveni hoping to extend his 25 years in office.
Counting is under way and voting was generally smooth but a journalist was shot in the east when soldiers opened fire at an opposition politician.
Mr Museveni's former doctor, Kizza Besigye, is standing against him for the third time and has warned of protests if he is "cheated" of victory.
President Museveni dismissed opposition threats, telling reporters: "Revolt? Let him try, let him try, because the hour is here now and then he will know what it means to revolt."
Policewoman Judith Nabakooba and Uganda Army Spokesman Felix Kaluyigye both spoke at a news conference about the election.
