As a major offensive continues against the so-called Islamic State in Iraq, the UN has accused the militant group of using tens of thousands of civilians as human shields in the besieged city of Mosul.

The BBC's Shaimaa Khalil speaks to the Shahoud family - who escaped their village near Mosul - about what life was like living under IS.
