No women allowed: Sacred sites where even female animals are banned

The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, is due to visit one of the most revered sites in Orthodox Christianity.

Mount Athos in Greece is off-limits to women, and is one of a number of religious sites around the world where gender-based rules are strictly enforced.
