Shangri-La dialogue: Japan PM Abe urges security role

The Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told a regional security forum in Singapore that his nation would offer its "utmost support" to south-east Asian countries in protecting their seas and airspace.

His comments came as an annual gathering of defence and security officials kicked off in Singapore.
