Can you pronounce Germany's longest word?

The longest word in the German language has been dropped from the lexicon.

The word - Rindfleischetikettierungsueberwachungsaufgabenuebertragungsgesetz - is rarely used anymore.

Sebastian Borger, a German journalist based in London, told the Today programme: "Compound words are used all the time, and any student of the German language will like it because it gives you a very precise way of expressing yourself."

First broadcast on the Today programme on Tuesday 4 June 2013.
