Passengers 'relieved' as cruise ship docks in Alabama

A crippled cruise ship with thousands of passengers on board has docked in the US state of Alabama, four days after losing power following a fire in the engine-room.

Holidaymakers have described an overpowering stench on board the Carnival Triumph, with overflowing toilets and drainpipes making some cabins uninhabitable.

Kathleen Haughney, a reporter from South Florida Sun Sentinel, said passengers cheered loudly as the cruise ship returned to port.
