Putin plays down talk of battle for Arctic resources

The Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has told delegates attending an international conference about the future of the Arctic that any potential disputes between countries over the region can be resolved through negotiations.

Mr Putin was giving the key address on the second and final day of the conference being held in the Russian capital.
