'I found cannabis plants in council flower pots'

Council officials in Newport are trying to discover who planted cannabis in flower pots put out to brighten up the city.

More than 20 of the illegal plants were discovered nestling amongst begonias and petunias in the street flower displays.

Dean Beddis who runs the shop Kriminal Records told the Today programme's Evan Davis that he found the plants, which were about 18 to 20 inches high, and told his friend who wrote a story about them.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Monday 5 August 2013.
