Lib Dems plan to help parents with childcare choice

Politicians need to do more to help parents facing the choice between childcare or work, the Welsh Liberal Democrats have said.

The party is offering working parents 10 hours of free childcare a week from the age of nine months if it wins power at the assembly election in May.

Childcare for three to four-year-olds would increase from 10 to 15 hours and also apply to all families.

Other parties have also focused on more free care for three to four-year-olds.

Lib Dem education spokesman Aled Roberts said politicians had to do more to help parents wanting to return to work.
