English MEP calls on EU to examine Cardiff airport bid

A Conservative MEP has asked the European Commission to investigate the Welsh Government's proposal to buy Cardiff Airport.

Ashley Fox, who represents the South West of England, wants an assessment of whether the purchase would breach EU rules on state aid.

He told BBC Radio Wales that he had serious concerns about the impact on Bristol airport if the deal goes ahead.
