Wales curriculum shake-up year delay 'to get it right'

Kirsty Williams is allowing an extra year to bring in a new national curriculum so schools in Wales "can get it right".

The education secretary said she has listened to teachers and looked at changes in other countries and decided a phased approach rather than a "big bang" was the best way forward.

The major reform of what and how Welsh schoolchildren are taught will now start in 2022.
