Men 'less likely to claim benefits than women' in Wales

Men are less likely to claim out-of-work benefits than women in Wales, in contrast to the situation four years ago, a think tank has said.

The ratio of men claiming went from one in six in 2012 to one in nine from 2016, but stayed at about one in eight for women.

Lucy Williams of the Bevan Foundation said childcare was among the barriers facing women who wanted to work.
