Dementia diagnosis caused 'utter turmoil' for family

The Welsh Government has launched a two-month consultation aimed at improving care for people with dementia.

Patients and their carers are being asked for their experiences to help shape Wales' first ever national dementia plan.

Alzheimer's Society figures show dementia affects 45,000 people in Wales and experts fear this number could rise by 40% in the next 10 years.

Cath Camps, whose husband John was diagnosed with dementia five years ago, said she there should be more support for patients from the outset.
