Storm causes Rosslare-Fishguard ferry's 24-hour journey

A ferry is back in port in Wales after its passengers and crew spent the night stranded in the Irish Sea.

The four-hour Stena Line ferry service between Rosslare and Fishguard in Pembrokeshire was unable to dock on Monday with 87 passengers and 59 crew stuck onboard.

The vessel, which usually sails in a virtually straight line from Rosslare to Fishguard, had to make made several changes to its course due to the stormy conditions.

And was eventually forced to sail to sheltered waters off the Llyn Peninsula in north Wales overnight. It finally docked nearly 24 hours later than planned.

It follows flooding across Wales in the wake of Storm Angus.
