Hay Festival: National poet Ifor ap Glyn on the challenges ahead

The new national poet of Wales has officially started work.

Ifor ap Glyn, who writes in Welsh, held his first engagement at the Hay Festival in Hay-on-Wye in Powys.

Although the position does not hold a salary, the national poet is expected to compose new works in response to national events.

BBC Wales arts and media correspondent Huw Thomas reports.
