Antidepressants being 'doled out like smarties' to children

Antidepressants are being "doled out like smarties" to children, 22-year-old Sarah Dale who "despises" the drug has said.

The warning comes after a 30% increase in the number of children in Wales prescribed antidepressants was revealed in figures obtained by the BBC.

Swansea University analysed data from nearly 360,000 children aged between six and 18 between 2003 and 2013.

It followed a health warning in 2003 that children should not be given most antidepressants.

Hywel Griffith reports.
