Fire extinguished at Tata Steel plant in Port Talbot

A blaze at the Tata Steel plant in Port Talbot has been put out, the fire service has said.

Mid and West Wales Fire Service said it was called to the blaze, which is believed to have started in the coke oven, at about 08:00 GMT.

Tata confirmed there were no casualties and it was looking to restore all manufacturing once operational and safety checks had been done.

Images on social media showed flames and smoke coming from the site.
