Pupils' concerns over safety of walking to school

Primary school children want better and safer routes to schools, a report has said.

A survey of almost 1,000 pupils found they were concerned about traffic and poor quality or lack of pavements.

It showed 78% of children thought they should have a say in planning routes.

Children's Commissioner for Wales Sally Holland, launching the report, called on local authorities to develop better routes and said children should be part of the discussions.

Ben Price reports.
