Burst water main in Caerphilly county 'pieced together'

Hundreds of properties remain affected in parts of Caerphilly county after a water main burst, Welsh Water has said.

Damage caused main by a third-party contractor on Wednesday is affecting properties in Abercarn, Cross Keys, Ynysddu and surrounding areas.

Welsh Water said engineers worked through the night, with a "significant amount" of water lost through the damage but it expects supplies to return to normal during Thursday.

Peter Perry from Welsh Water said the breakage had been fixed and they were waiting to the concrete to set before the water supply returns.
