Men 'lucky to be alive' after Powys 4x4 off-road crash

Three men have been taken to hospital with spinal injuries after a 4x4 vehicle tumbled 60 metres (200ft) down a gully in Powys.

Three vehicles with nine occupants were riding off-road when one rolled off a path in New Radnor at about 02:30 GMT on Saturday, the fire service said.

A rescue involving the fire service, mountain rescue, ambulance service and a helicopter was launched.

Brecon Mountain Rescue Team said the men are "lucky to be alive".

Two were airlifted to Cardiff's University Hospital of Wales, while the other was taken by land ambulance to hospital in Hereford.
