Cardiff steelworks: 'Nursery kids' concern after explosion'

Several people are reported to be injured following an explosion at a steelworks in Cardiff.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to Celsa Steel UK on East Moors Road in Splott at 10:30 GMT on Wednesday.

The site has been evacuated and a search is under way for workers.

Cardiff and Vale University Hospital has implemented its major incidents protocol.

Helen Vernon, assistant manager at Busy Bee's Nursery which is very near the Celsa site, has spoken to BBC Radio Wales' Jason Mohammad programme.
