Sewage discharges 'lesser of two evils'

A court case is looming over the amount of sewage and waste water that is discharged into the sea off west Wales.

Sewage - and rainwater - is a big problem for some people close to the Burry Inlet near Llanelli and Gowerton.

Welsh Water has pledged to invest more.

Steve Wilson, waste water services manager, told BBC Wales environment correspondent Iolo ap Dafydd that using overflow discharge pipes was the lesser of two evils - if it prevented excess rainwater and sewage flooding back into people's homes.
