Maesteg school wakes truanting pupils from their beds

Truanting pupils are being woken from their beds by schools, a head teacher has said.

Anne Carhart, from Maesteg Comprehensive School, Bridgend, told BBC Radio Wales staff knocked on the door of about five students every week.

Maesteg comprehensive is one of three schools highlighted as setting a good example for other schools in Wales by education inspectorate Estyn.

Ms Carhart spoke to BBC Wales' Oliver Hides.
