Harvest brings taste of exotic to Aberglasney Gardens

After years of complaining about the terrible British weather there can be few complaints about the sunshine of the past few weeks.

And it has meant a remarkable harvest time with the Woodland Trust reporting that wild fruits like blackberries, hazelnuts elderberries and rowan berries are abundant giving wild animals and birds plenty to tuck away in their winter hoards.

Gilbert John spoke to Joseph Atkins, head gardener at Aberglasney Gardens at Llangathen near Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire about a bumper crop of fruit - some quite exotic.
