Syphilis patients in north Wales urged to visit GP

There has been significant rise in the number of cases of the sexually transmitted disease syphilis in north Wales.

Public Health Wales said 39 cases were reported in the past year, when there are normally around seven.

The rise was first seen on Anglesey but has now spread across the region.

Dr Ushan Andrady believes there could be more people out there who are not aware they have the disease.
