Campaign in Llandudno to bring sand back to beach

Thoughts of the traditional British holiday turn to long summer days of sun, sea and sand.

But the sun is not always guaranteed and now neither is sand.

People in the Welsh resort of Llandudno, Conwy, have started a campaign to bring back sand after large sections of the main beach were covered with stones in 2000 to boost sea defences.

Campaigners have claimed the lack of sand is harming the resort's image with tourists.

Chris Dearden reports.
