Prince records Dylan Thomas classic 'Fern Hill'

The Prince of Wales has recorded Dylan Thomas's classic poem Fern Hill to mark National Poetry Day 2013.

The prince described it as a "poignant and moving" poem evoking the rural west Wales childhood of the poet.

Prince Charles is the Royal patron of the Dylan Thomas 100 Festival which will mark the centenary of the poet's birth in 2014.

Over the summer, he visited Thomas's boathouse at Laugharne in Carmarthenshire, where many of his major works were written. Last year, the prince toured 5 Cwmdonkin Drive, the poet's home in Swansea.
