Are Welsh arts on the up?

These are testing times for the arts - budgets are tight and it is often cultural pursuits that are under the greatest scrutiny.

But this year has been a good one for Wales at the world's largest arts festival - the Edinburgh Fringe.

More than 21 companies have presented their work there. So are Welsh arts on the up?

David Alston, the arts director for the Arts Council of Wales and Alison Wood, executive director of NoFit State Circus, discuss the situation with BBC Radio Wales' Vaughan Roderick.
