University clearing offers A-level students back up plan

As thousands of A-level pupils receive their results across Wales, many will be anxious to learn if they have succeeded in gaining the grades they need for a place at university.

Reporter Paul Heaney visited a busy clearing office at the University of South Wales in Treforest to hear from the admissions team taking calls from students.

Head of admissions Ioan Evans said while grade requirements had been raised for high-demand courses there were places available on other courses if students were willing to consider alternatives.
