Fred Keenor statue unveiled by Cardiff City Football Club

An £85,000 statue to commemorate Cardiff City's 1927 FA Cup winning captain Fred Keenor (above right) has been unveiled outside the club's stadium.

It follows a lengthy fund-raising campaign by Cardiff City Supporters Trust and statue appeal committee.

Cardiff won the FA Cup after beating Arsenal 1-0 - the only time the trophy has gone to a non-English club.

Philip Nifield, spokesman for the supporters' trust and statue appeal, spoke to Peter Johnson on BBC Radio Wales on the morning of the unveiling.
