David Mundell calls for 'Team UK' approach to Brexit

Scottish Secretary David Mundell calls for a "Team UK" approach to the UK's Brexit negotiations with the EU.

A unified approach with all parts of the UK working together will achieve the best result for all its constituent parts, he said.

Mr Mundell acknowledged the UK government would consider credible proposals where there are "specifics in relation to Scotland".

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has set out the Scottish government's position on the country's relationship with the EU and the rest of the UK following Brexit.

She called for the UK to remain within the single market and said the option of Scottish independence must remain on the table.
