Darcy wins PDSA pet survivor of the year

A cocker spaniel who was seriously injured after plunging 60ft (about 18m) down a Highlands dam has been named PDSA pet survivor of the year.

Two-year-old Darcy sustained a shattered femur, fractures to her legs and pelvis and internal bleeding after falling at Glascarnoch Dam in July.

Owner Gordon Lyon told the BBC that her fighting spirit means Darcy will be making as full a recovery as possible.
