Scotland seeks trade deal with Europe

Scotland is seeking a future trade deal with Europe as part of the European Economic Area should the UK leave the EU.

The BBC has learned that former first minister Alex Salmond has held informal talks with the European Free Trade Association about Scotland's future relationship with Europe.

It is understood that Mr Salmond recently travelled to the trade club's headquarters in Switzerland.

BBC Scotland's political correspondent Glenn Campbell reports from Geneva.
