Diabetes Scotland wants more education after diagnosis

The majority of patients who have diabetes are not receiving all the health tests they should.

Diabetes Scotland has also called on the Scottish government to deliver on its promise to improve education after diagnosis.

Health Minister Aileen Campbell has said health boards and diabetes teams work hard to stress the importance of attending health checks and education courses.

The charity's Claire Fleming told BBC Scotland that educating people on how to live with the condition is key.

World Diabetes Day, held on 14 November, aims to raise awareness of the condition.
