Lord Kerr says Article 50 was drawn up in the event of a coup

The author who drew up Article 50 has said he never imagined that it would be used by the UK to leave the EU.

Lord Kerr has said he only expected it to be triggered if there was a coup in an EU member state.

BBC Scotland's political correspondent Glenn Campbell has been speaking to the former head of the British diplomatic service.
